Learning new things can be a great way to help your brain stay sharp. There are many guided meditation podcasts out there that are mom-friendly, so you can find one that works for you. If you’re having trouble getting into the practice, try listening to guided meditations on YouTube, Spotify or podcasts. It can be a great way to recover after a long day at work or taking care of the kids. You can also do it with your child! Meditation has many wonderful benefits, including improving your memory, reducing stress, and helping you to slow your mind down and focus. Find a quiet place where you can sit safely. You can start with 5-10 minute sessions every day. Meditation doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming. It’s easy to get sucked into the world of Hulu or Netflix for hours on end, but it’s not good for your health! Meditate Eat healthy meals, and try to avoid spending too much time in front of the TV or computer screen. Get plenty of sleep, drink plenty of water, take a break to rest your mind every once in a while, and don’t forget to take care of your mental health. That’s why it’s so important to find ways to take care of your body. Eating well and getting plenty of rest are the best ways to support your mind, but they’re often the first things thrown out of the window when parenthood is thrown into the mix. If you have a child or multiple children at home, try finding a partner who can help you make sure that exercise gets prioritized! There are also many classes and activities (like yoga or dancing) that are perfect for parents and kids – it can be a great way to spend time with your kids while getting a healthy activity in. Putting exercise on your schedule can be a great way to make sure it gets done. You can also incorporate exercise into your daily routine by taking walks with your child or going for a jog with your partner. Even if you’re not lucky enough to have a designated exercise time each day, you can still get some benefit from a few minutes of stretching, push-ups, or other simple exercises.
